Music Ministry

The music ministry of Trinity Baptist Church invites you to become an integral part in one of the most rewarding ministries of our church. We encourage you to become a part of our music ministry by joining one of these choirs.

Chancel Choir

Everyone, college-aged to adult, is invited to join the Chancel Choir for rehearsal on Wednesday evenings, 7:30-9:00 p.m. This choir is not a professional group but is composed of persons who are willing to dedicate time and talent through service to God. Charged with a large leadership responsibility, its members are expected to meet rehearsal and performance requirements. A wide variety of musical styles ranging from traditional athems to comtemporary worship are performed. In addition to leading in worship each Sunday morning, major performances are given throughout the year. Although the demands on this choir are great, the rewards from serving Christ by singing in Chancel Choir make the extra effort worthwhile.

Joyful Ringers Handbell Ensemble

Everyone is invited to join our handbell ensemble for rehearsal on Wednesday evenings (August-May), from 5:00-6:00 p.m. More than any other musical ensemble, our handbell ensemble depends on each individual not only for the discipline of good ringing skills, but devoted commitment in attendance. We ring a variety of musical styles and perform frequently in the morning worship and for community activities.

Pre-School Choir

This choir for ages 3-5 meets on Wednesday evenings (August-May), from 6:40-7:15 p.m. The main purpose of this choir is to give our children their first formal experience with music.

Music Makers Choir

Children, first-third grade, meet for Music Makers on Wednesdays (August-May), 6:40-7:15 p.m. This choir helps our children develop and express themselves musically. Our teachers work with the children to formulate musical concepts (melody, harmony, expression, form and tone) through the use of listening activities, singing, body movement, and playing instruments. Speritual concepts are formed as they learn how music is a means of worship and of expressing to others in song the message of Jesus.

Young Musicians' Choir

This exciting young choir, for third-sixth graders, is already becoming one of the most successful units of our music ministry. Young Musicians' Choir meets on Wednesdays (August-May) from 6:40-7:15 p.m. Training in music theory and general musicianship comes in conjustion with music prepared for performance. The group learns the fundamentals of two- to three-part singing, which prepares them for future development in other choirs. Boys and girls in the Young Musicians' Choir have the opportunity to participate in several "special" activities (such as MusiCamp). They provide leadership in worship from time to time.
